Naugatuck Election Results 2022: Rebimbas, Bronko Projected Winners

Thousands of Naugatuck residents have cast their votes in the 2022 state and federal election in a number of key races.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A number of candidates have declared victory in several key federal, state and local state representative races across Naugatuck, however official vote totals have not yet been released.

Citizen's News reports reports Republican challenger Rosa Rebimbas has declared victory overDemocratic incumbent Peter Mariano in the 21st District Judge of Probate race. Mariano ran unopposed for 16 years and served five four-year terms. Final vote numbers have not yet been released. (Read more at Citizen's News)

The Connecticut Post reports that Democratic incumbent Jorge Cabrera has declared victory in the 17th Senate District and has defeated Republican challenger Kathy Hoyt. Final vote numbers have not yet been released. (Read more at the Connecticut Post)

In addition to Naugatuck, the 17th Senate District includes parts of Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Derby, Hamden and Woodbridge.

Citizen's News reports Seth Bronko, a Republican, won out over Jeff Litke, a Democrat, in the 70th House District race. The district is comprised solely of Naugatuck. Final vote numbers have not yet been released. (Read more at Citizen's News)

Litke confirmed the projected loss in a Facebook post and thanked all of his supporters in Naugatuck.

"Unfortunately we were not successful today," Litke said on Facebook. "I want to thank all the voters in Naugatuck for their support. We ran a good campaign that I am so proud of. Thank you to everyone that helped me and supported me...I'm not going anywhere and will continue to to be a strong defender of Naugatuck and our community."

In the race for the 15th State Senate District, Democrat Joan Hartley ran unopposed. Republican David Labriola also ran unopposed in the 131st House District race.


Eyes are on the gubernatorial race as incumbent Gov. Ned Lamont faces off against Republican nominee Bob Stefanowski and Independent Party candidate Rob Hotaling. Voters will also get to decide on several state constitutional positions including treasurer, comptroller, attorney general and secretary of the state.

Connecticut has a U.S. Senate seat up for grabs. Sen. Richard Blumenthal is seeking a third term, while Republican Leora Levy hopes to unseat him. All the state’s congressional seats are up for election as well.

All seats in the state General Assembly are up for election this year.

Voters will also get to decide whether the state should allow early voting. The question on the ballot is: "Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to provide for early voting?"

Naugatuck residents went to the polls Tuesday to determine the following races. Results are unofficial, projected winners are in bold:
