NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck police will be conducting a seatbelt safety campaign starting this week, reminding residents to "be safe, buckle up."

According to the department's Facebook page, the "Click It or Ticket" campaign will take place from Nov. 29 to Dec. 6.

"Buckle up, every time," police said on Facebook. "It only takes two seconds to buckle up, but those two seconds could save your life!"

According to police, seatbelts reduce the risk of fatal injury by 45 percent in a crash and keep drivers and passengers secure during sudden stops or impacts.

"It's the law," police said, "and it's one of the simplest ways to stay safe!"

According to police, drivers and passengers should always buckle up, no matter how short the trip, because danger might strike at any moment.

"Let's keep ourselves and others safe on the road," police said. "Stay strapped, stay safe!"
