Naugatuck Woman Thankful For Her Time Caring For Her Ailing Mother

NAUGATUCK, CT — Showing thankfulness, whether by sharing blessings around the Thanksgiving dinner table or through some other deed or action, is an important part of Thanksgiving and the holiday season in Naugatuck.

What are you thankful for?

I was able to take care of my mother during her last year of life. My mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia, and she survived 6 strokes. Myself, along with my father, were her full-time caregivers and I’m so grateful that she was not in a nursing home but in our home and we took care of her. She passed a month before her 89th birthday which is Nov. 28, the same day as Thanksgiving this year.
