New Assistant Superintendent Appointed In Naugatuck
The district announced this week a Naugatuck elementary school principal has been appointed as the next assistant superintendent.
NAUGATUCK, CT — The district announced this week an elementary school principal has been appointed as the next assistant superintendent of Naugatuck Public Schools.
According to the district's Facebook page, Maple Hill Elementary School Principal Lisa Romano was appointed to the position during Thursday night's Board of Education meeting.
"In her time as principal of Maple Hill, Dr. Romano has shown incredible leadership, exceptionally guiding our largest elementary school to high levels of student achievement and strengthening school culture," the district's post reads.

District officials also noted Romano's level of commitment and care for the parents, students and staff at Maple Hill shine through the incredible energy and environment that has become synonymous with the school.
Romano is set to begin her new role on Jan. 1, according to the district.

"At the district level, we are beyond excited and thrilled for Dr. Romano to take her leadership skills, love of teaching and passion for education as a whole to the next level," the post reads. "We look forward to seeing her incredible contributions and collaborating with her to continue to strive to live by our strategic framework of 'Learn. Thrive. Belong.'"
