She was retired after working for many years at CVS in Naugatuck and spent many years as an active EMT.

Beacon Falls - Katrina R. (Hayes) Durand, age 85, of Beacon Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday January 13, 2025. She was the widow of Clyde C. Durand, Sr.
Katrina was born July 11, 1939 in Waterbury Center, Vermont daughter of the late Erwin Hayes, Sr. and Gladys (Gibbs) Hayes. She was retired after working for many years at CVS in Naugatuck and spent many years as an active EMT with Beacon Hose Company #1. Katrina also spent years as a den mother for the cub scouts out of Beacon Falls.

Katrina is survived by her daughter: Robin Burgess of Naugatuck, her son: Bruce Durand and his wife Pauline of New Hartford, her grandchildren: Sherri Burgess, Julie Burgess and Katie Drake and her husband Matt, her great
grandchildren: Nathaniel, Priscilla, Austen, Christopher James, Skyemarie, Ayden, Danny and Lillyanna, and many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her son: Clyde Charles Durand, Jr., her grandson: Christopher Durand, her son-in-law: C.J. Burgess and many siblings.
Private graveside services and burial will be held at Maple Street Cemetery in Waterbury Center, Vermont in the Spring. Community Funeral Home 72 Waterbury Road (Next to the Post Office) in Prospect is honored to be assisting Mrs. Durand's family.
