Obituary: Vernon Mead Jr., 52, formerly of Naugatuck

Vernon proudly served in the U.S. Navy, was an avid outdoorsman and dedicated traveling nurse.

NAUGATUCK, CT - (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home) Vernon Mead Jr., age 52, formerly of Naugatuck entered into eternal rest on Tuesday,

May 18, 2021, in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Vernon was born on October 14, 1969 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of the late Vernon Mead Sr. and Shirley Mead of Naugatuck, Connecticut.

Vernon was a graduate of Naugatuck High School; he was also an armed forces veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Navy for three years.

Vernon worked as a traveling nurse and loved traveling across the United States.

He enjoyed being in the outdoors and fishing.

Vernon leaves behind his sister, Laura Otis and her husband Timothy and their son TJ of Winsted,
Connecticut, his aunts Karen Seeger of Naugatuck and Patricia Clark of Southbury.

Military Services for Vernon Jr. were held at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
