They say they’ll save most of the windfall while splurging on some extra-special holiday gifts, and they’re already dreaming about taking another shot at Wednesday night’s historic jackpot.
   

• Krieger heads up new SCORE Western CT leadership team with Rich (westfaironline.com) — Small businesses in Naugatuck will now be supported by the newly consolidated SCORE Western Connecticut chapter, which has announced a full leadership team to guide mentoring and workshops. The group’s nearly 200 volunteer mentors will offer counseling, education, and events for entrepreneurs across western Connecticut, including Naugatuck and neighboring towns.
   

• New gym gives Torrington girls basketball new momentum: It brings a higher morale for the team (darientimes.com) — Torrington High’s girls basketball team will christen its fully renovated Connie Donahue Gym on Dec. 19 with a girls-boys doubleheader against Naugatuck, giving local fans a fresh venue to visit. Players and longtime coach Mike Fritch say the brighter, modernized space boosts morale as they chase Naugatuck Valley League and state tournament success this season.
