A roaming dog inadvertently led Naugatuck Police to a fugitive from justice Monday night.
Police said the fugitive, Elbert Colon, 34, is the owner of the dog. He reportedly lied about his identity to the officer who was investigating a roaming dog complaint at 5:34 p.m. on Feb. 3.
The officer determined that Colon, of Wilson Street in Naugatuck, was wanted on an active arrest warrant out of New Jersey. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and interfering with an officer.
