Salem Elementary School Students & Staff Celebrate Adminstrators
Salem School will be closed at the conclusion of the school year that ends on Tuesday.
NAUGATUCK - On Monday morning, Salem School students, faculty and staff gathered to recognize their principal, Kristine Murphy-Salvucci. Every student in the school that will be closed at the end of the school year walked down the center staircase and presented Mrs. Murphy with a flower. Many students expressed their thanks to their beloved principal with hug.
After the students had greeted Mrs. Murphy, the entire student body posed in front of the iconic school building for a group photo.
The faculty also presented Superintendent of Schools Christopher Montini, who is leaving the Naugatuck Public Schools to lead the Woodbridge school district, and Assistant Superintendent Melissa Cooney with a signed yearbook and Salem hats.

Kris DiMaio, a veteran second grade teacher at Salem, noted that it was important to let the two administrators know that they both are appreciated. "They have been especially helpful with trying to transition our team, and we just want to show our appreciation."
