3 Downtown Businesses Burglarized In Predawn Hours Thursday: Police

Three Orange Street businesses, Vinas Restaurant, Elm City Games and Elm City Market, had broken windows, and appeared to be ransacked: PD

NEW HAVEN, CT — Well before dawn, at around 4:15 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a burglar alarm at Vinas Restaurant, 85 Orange St., officials said.

When officers arrived, they found that in addition to the eatery two other businesses nearby, 71 and 72 Orange St., Elm City Games and Elm City Market had broken windows, and their interiors appeared to be ransacked, police spokesperson officer Christian Brukhart.

"There is no word yet on what if anything was taken," he said. Though a person, police said is their "suspect," appears to be holding possible electronics. Bruckhart said that police detectives are investigating.

Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed the incident, who or who may have information valuable to investigators, to call detectives at 203–9 46–6304 or the department's anonymous tip line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).
