Albertus Magnus College's 6th Annual Day Of Service Set For Thursday
Albertus students, faculty, & staff volunteer in record numbers for the Day of Service as a way to give back to the New Haven community.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Each and every day, the Albertus Magnus College community strives to live up to the Four Dominican Pillars of Study, Prayer, Community, and Service. In dedication to service to others, Albertus students, faculty, and staff are volunteering in record numbers for its Sixth Annual Day of Service as a way to give back to the New Haven community by helping others grow and prosper all while building a sense of purpose.
Who: 175 volunteers — all Albertus students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
What: Sixth Annual Day of Service.
Where: Meet in Atrium of Tagliatela Academic Center before dispersing to 21 indoor and two outdoor sites.
When: Thursday, April 18, 2024 (Rain date is Friday, April 19);
8:30 a.m. check-in and blessing;
9:00 a.m. travel to locations;
12:00 p.m. lunch and reflection.

It is a commitment to our environmental stewardship and giving back to our community at large.
Volunteers will be working in a total of 23 locations:

Albertus Community Garden and Contemplative Garden; Albertus perimeter grounds and 490 Prospect Street; Albertus’ Rosary Hall and Celentano Field; Amistad Catholic Worker House; East Rock Park; Edgerton Park; Eli Whitney Museum and Workshop; Habitat for Humanity; Loaves & Fishes; Marrakech; Mobile Food Pantry; New Haven Botanical Garden of Healing; New Haven Peace Garden; Rockford Field; Ronald McDonald House; Springs Learning Center; St. Martin De Porres Church; St. Mary’s Convent/Lincoln Street; St. Stanislaus Convent/Eld Street; There’s No Place Like Home; and URI Spruel Space Pocket Park.
The two indoor services on campus include making 100 lunches for Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen and writing cards for homebound Sisters.
