Reinaldo "Rein" Goyenechea Being Honored With Artist Legacy Award
The award acknowledges Guilford-based caricaturist Goyenechea's talent and contributions to the Latin community.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Artist Reinaldo "Rein" Goyenechea is being honored with the Artist Legacy Award Tuesday night in New Haven for his talent and contributions to the Latin community.
Mario Mena, the owner of Viñas Wine & Tapas in New Haven, started an annual art award to "honor local artists."
The Artist Legacy Award celebrates his ability to capture the essence of individuals and evoke laughter, reflection, and admiration through his unique artistic expressions, it's noted in a release. "Rein has demonstrated unparalleled skill, creativity, and innovation in the art of caricature," it reads.

The award honors not only his past achievements, but also his "ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of caricature art and shaping its future with brilliance and ingenuity," a news release on the award reads.
Rein has showcased his artwork in logos, exhibitions, and publications around the world.

Goyenechea currently publishes weekly for La Voz Hispana de Connecticut, and his work also appears in the New Haven Independent.
Goyenechea lives with his family in Guilford.
