Cops Investigate After Person Shot Near Club Overnight New Year's Day
A person cops say was reported shot in the leg outside a River Street after-hours club at around 3 a.m. Monday is in stable condition.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A pre-dawn shooting on New Year's Day left one person hospitalized, according to New Haven police spokesperson Sgt. Cherelle Carr.
It was around 3:15 a.m. Monday when cops got a report from Yale New Haven Hospital that a person had "walked in" to the emergency department with a gunshot wound to the right leg, Carr said. The person was reported in stable condition.
Carr said it was reported the shooting took place near an after hours bar in the area of River Street. She said that a crime scene was not found, and the "victim did not provide any further details about the shooting."

New Haven police Major Crimes Unit detectives are investigating, Carr said.
