Obituary: Andrea Lynn Papa, 56, Retired, NHPD Officer
A proud New Haven police officer from 1995 to 2007, who loved teaching at the police academy, received the 2003 Meritorious Service Award.
Andrea Lynn Papa, 56 of Branford passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 10th. Loving daughter of Peggy McWeeney of Branford and Andrew Papa (Patti) of North Branford. Sister of Sherri Murawski of East Haven and Joy Bozzi (Greg) of Branford. Aunt of Joe Murawski, Sara Murawski, Gianna Bozzi, Julia Bozzi and Jetta Bozzi. Andrea is also survived by her loving best friend, Maria Esposito of New Haven and their beloved dog, Penny. Andrea attended West Haven High School and then went to Middlesex Community College.
In 1995 Andrea graduated from the New Haven Police Academy and was a proud police officer until her retirement in 2007. During her tenure with the NHPD, she found a love for teaching at the New Haven Police Academy and was the recipient of The 2003 Meritorious Service Award.

Family and friends may call FRIDAY from 5:00-7:00 PM at the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven. Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter in Branford or The American Diabetes Association.
