Latonya “Monique” Reyes, 56, of New Haven, CT passed away on December 7, 2023. Latonya “Monique” Reyes was born on October 16, 1967 in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Connecticut became home to Monique where she established great friendships and family. She embraced family, and enjoyed being a loving mother and grandmother (Mima). She was known for her welcoming nature and generosity, not only to her family and friends, but to those in need.

She leaves behind to cherish her fond memories; her Mother, Gwendolyn McCoy; Grandmother, Katrina “Nana” Carter; Brother, Javon McCoy; Her beloved three sons Kevin Jr., Chavez and Rashad Reyes; Daughter, Candy Soriano; Grandchildren, Ja’Sean and Kaiden Reyes; Uncles, Michael Carter and Kenny Gindhart; nieces and nephews, Kaya, Javon Jr. and Kallie McCoy; cousins, Kayla McGowan Gindhart and Jason Gindhart, Corey McGowen; and extended family and friends. Predeceased by Grandfather, Earl Carter (Papa) and Aunt, Debra Gindhart.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at VERTICAL CHURCH, 225 Meloy Rd, West Haven, CT 06516. Viewing 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.. Prayer service will begin at 11 a.m.. A celebration of her life will be held at West River Hall, 37 Orlando St., West Haven, CT from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
