Obituary: Maryellen (Prindle) Trinkaus, 67, of New Haven

She was quick to say hello to people she got to know as regular customers while owner of Carvel and then Jennifer's Ice Cream in East Haven.

Maryellen (Prindle) Trinkaus, 67 Born in Stamford on May 9, 1956. Maryellen passed away at home in New Haven after a long illness on Sunday February 4, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Frank R. Trinkaus. She will be deeply missed by her two children, Jennifer (Chris) Parker of North Haven and Franz (Lauren) Trinkaus of North Haven. Maryellen was known as Oma to her 5 grandchildren Bryan, Kevin and Colby Parker and Colton and Elliana Trinkaus.

She was always present on the sidelines at their sporting events and in the audience for their presentations. She was a friend to all and was quick to say hello to many in the community she got to know as her regular customers as owner of Carvel, and then Jennifer’s Ice Cream in East Haven. As one of 14 children, there was no such thing as a small gathering. Spending time with her family, her mother Kay Prindle, her 13 siblings and her many nieces and nephews was always important to her. She will always be remembered for her love of balloons, bubbles, donuts and the amazing signs she made for every occasion.
