Obituary: Russell Francis Lanziero, 69, of New Haven
Russell, the definition of a true gentleman, worked in construction and was a member of the CT Laborers' Union, Local 455 of West Haven.
NEW HAVEN, CT - (From Washington Memorial Funeral Home) Russell Francis Lanziero, 69, of New Haven, formerly of West Haven and North Haven, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Russell was born in Hartford on June 23, 1952, a son of the late James and Jeanette Robinshaw Lanziero.
He had resided in West Haven for most of his life, and later in North Haven for over 10 years before moving to New Haven 20 years ago. Russell worked in construction for 36 years, retiring in 2006, and was a 51-year member of the CT Laborers' Union, Local 455 of West Haven.
Russell was the definition of a true gentleman; chivalrous, courteous, and honest. He loved all sports, was a true sports enthusiast, and idolized Jim Morrison of the Doors.
He would often emulate his singing style, and sounded remarkably like him.
Russell is survived by his son Jason R. Lanziero, and two grandchildren, Emma Rose and Cameron Lanziero of Tewksbury, MA, and his half-brother James (Donna) Lanziero of West Haven.
He is also survived by his former spouses, Anita L. Massini of North Haven and Susan Porto of New Haven.
Funeral services for Russell are private, and have been entrusted to the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
