Obituary: Timothy "Tida" Charles Johnson, 34, of New Haven

Timothy was a devoted family man, avid sports fan and dedicated employee at Yale University for over 15 years.

NEW HAVEN, CT - (From Colonial Funeral Home) Timothy Charles Johnson, affectionately known as “Tida”, was born on January 30, 1987, In New Haven, CT, to Nellie Harriott and Timothy Johnson, Sr.

He was educated in the New Haven public school system and he was a dedicated employee at Yale University for over 15 years.

Timothy will be remembered for being a loving father and for the unconditional love that he held for his family. He was an avid sports fan; his favorite teams were the L.A. Lakers and the Philadelphia Eagles.

He loved attending family functions, being a comedian, and dancing with the most important woman in his life – his mother, who he often referred to as his twin.

Besides his parents, he leaves to mourn four children; Tishel, Ty’liese, Timothy “Timmy”, and Taylor Johnson, two sisters; Vonitta and Tyranita Harriott, and his brothers Dwain Johnson and Antwan Hailey.

Timothy also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Timothy’s life will be held on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at St. Matthews Unison Free Will, 400 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven at 11am., Viewing in Church from 10-11am.
