NEW HAVEN, CT — Southern Connecticut State University presents a conversation with iconic singer, songwriter, and cultural icon Gloria Estefan on Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m. at the John Lyman Center for the Performing Arts.

Estefan, a seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer, actress, and businesswoman, is known for her contributions to Latin music and her impact on pop culture. Born in Havana, Cuba, and immigrating to Miami as a child, she grew up immersed in the city's vibrant music scene. She rose to international fame as the lead vocalist of the Miami Sound Machine, with hits like "Conga," "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You," and "Anything for You."

Throughout her illustrious career, Estefan has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time, and one of the most successful Latin crossover artists in music history according to Billboard Magazine. Beyond her musical achievements, she is a successful actress, author, and philanthropist. She has received numerous awards for her contributions to music and culture, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Kennedy Center Honors.

In "A Conversation with Gloria Estefan," attendees will have the opportunity to hear firsthand from the legendary artist about her life, career, and cultural impact.
