Woman, 62, Shot Outside Winchester Ave. Bar Saturday Night: Police
Just before midnight, cops said a woman told them she was standing outside Tarus Café, heard gunfire, and then she realized she'd been shot.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 62-year-old woman was shot in her arm while standing outside a Winchester Avenue bar late Saturday night, police said.
According to spokesperson Sgt. Cherelle Carr, it was just before midnight when cops went to a ShotSpotter activation at the Tarus Café, at 520 Winchester Ave., and found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, medical personnel confirmed she had a non-life threatening gunshot wound to her right forearm, Carr said.
Carr said the woman told officers that she heard gunfire while standing in the front of the café and "then she realized she was shot"

New Haven police detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are investigating.
