10 Displaced, Firefighter Injured In New Milford Blaze

NEW MILFORD, CT — Ten people were displaced and a firefighter was injured in a blaze Thursday morning, according to the New Milford Fire Marshal's Office.

Firefighters were called to a fire at a Wellsville Avenue home Thursday at 4:58 a.m. They arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the first floor extending to the second floor.

Everyone in the house evacuated safely.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene of the fire.

Ten people living in the home were displaced by the fire, and the American Red Cross was called in to assist.

The fire marshal and state officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.

Multiple area fire departments assisted in extinguishing the fire and helped provide coverage for New Milford.
