NEW MILFORD, CT — No humans were harmed, but one dog died in a residential blaze on Saturday, fire officials report.
Crews were dispatched to a one-story Kent Road ranch residence at 4:23 p.m. First responders saw heavy smoke rising from the home, according to Water Witch Hose Company #2. The six residents had vacated the home by the time crews arrived on the scene, but four dogs were still inside the building, officials said. One of those "succumbed to its injuries," the remaining three were rescued.
Members of Water Witch, Gaylordsville Fire, Northville Fire, and New Milford Community Ambulance all contributed to delivering a "quick knockdown," officials posted on social media.
