Former School Secretary Mrs. Suzanne Duff, 73, of New Milford Passed Away

New Milford resident Mrs. Suzanne Duff passed away after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

NEW MILFORD, CT — Mrs. Suzanne (Barley) Duff, 73, of Woodbury, died peacefully Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born April 2, 1943 in New Milford, CT, daughter of the late Ralph and Marion (Potter) Barley. She graduated from Washington High School in Washington, CT in 1961.

She was employed by the Region 14 School District, working as an office secretary in the schools until her retirement.On September 3, 1966 she married William A. Duff, who passed away in December 2012. They lived in Woodbury, where they raised their two daughters. Sue enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, playing Bingo at the Woodbury Fire Department, and cruising the Caribbean with her family.

Suzanne is survived by her two daughters and their husbands. Julie and Robert Slivinski of Woodbury, and Linda and Michael Ackerman of Wolcott; her brother and his wife, Ralph and Carol Barley of Severna Park, MD; three step grandchildren, Bree Slivinski of Woodbury, Danica Perrier and Scott Ackerman of Wolcott; an aunt Eleanor Potter of Bristol; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her daughters would like to thank the staff of the Lutheran Home, especially Kathy and Pierre, for their exceptional care and compassion during Suzanne's 10 ½ years there.A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2016, 12:30 p.m. at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street, Woodbury, CT.

Friends and family may visit Sue's family Monday evening, September 19 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
