Thank you to the men and women of the NMPD for enforcement and the public that continues to raise awareness.
We continue to work with the CTDOT on the following-
1. School Zones-
We are currently waiting on CTDOT to approve the school zone sign design that our DPW has sent them. Once approved, we will order then place the signs starting with NMHS, Then Faith Academy then SMS, Northville, SNIS, and Hill and Plain.
2. Increased Lighting on RTE #7 - Working with the State, they are in the process of completing their illumination study for RTE#7. Thank you to our CT State Delegation for assisting with the study.
3. Traffic Audit- In speaking with the State DOT the traffic Audit is planned for the Spring of this coming year. The expectation is a 2-month timeframe from start to completion. - This study will help with traffic calming solutions for RTE#7 including the add;l traffic lights etc...
4. RTE #7 & RTE#37 intersection - We had asked the state to look at RTE#7 / Boardman/ RTE#37 corridor and see if a traffic light was a feasible option for this corridor. After CTDOT review they concluded that a light would not be an option but that the state would allow the Town to put up electronic speed signs. We are currently working with the State for the proper electronic signage .
I will continue to provide updates -
