Hotel Proposed For Former Rolling Stones Rehearsal Site In CT

A former girls' school and rehearsal site for the Rolling Stones could become an 81,000-square-foot inn, according to a report.

WASHINGTON, CT — A 52-room hotel proposed for a vacant girls' school is on the docket for the Washington Zoning Commission on Thursday night. Plans have been in the works since 2008 for the construction of the 81,000-square-foot Wykeham Rise inn, according to CT Insider.

The former Wykeham Rise School for Girls site is known for being a rehearsal space for the Rolling Stones' national tour in 1989.

Several lawsuits have been filed against the town in regard to the hotel proposal, and the Zoning Commission has received more than 30 letters from residents.
