Man Stole Money From Clients With Disabilities In New Milford: Police

An employee of an organization is accused of stealing more than $20,000 from clients with disabilities, according to police.

NEW MILFORD, CT — An employee of a New Milford disability organization is accused of stealing more than $20,000 from clients with disabilities, according to police.

Jonathan Vincente, 36, was charged with first-degree larceny Sunday.

Ability Beyond, a New Milford organization, received a complaint about an employee misusing disabled clients' funds. Ability Beyond's investigation identified Vincente as the accused employee, according to police.

Vincente cooperated with police and told them he used clients' funds for personal purchases, according to police. Police said he spent in over $20,000 in clients' funds for personal purchases from January 2023 until February of this year.

Ability Beyond is an organization offering services and programs for people with disabilities across Connecticut and New York, according to its website.

Vincente was released after posting $75,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Torrington Superior Court on May 16.
