In Memory of Joshua Adams, 25, of New Milford
25-year-old Joshua Adams, of New Milford, passed away after a 5-year battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

NEW MILFORD, CT — Joshua Thomas Adams, 25, of New Milford, CT and New Britain, CT, passed away Thursday September 8, 2016 in the loving care of the staff of Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, CT where he lived for the last 4 years of his lifelong journey with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
During his life Josh was a voracious reader of science fiction, devouring over 600 novels and enjoyed movies and documentaries with his dad, mom, cousins and friends. His early story writing made him a popular reader of his short thrillers in his 5th grade class at Sarah Noble School. He closely followed new developments in history, science, medical knowledge and cute cat videos and enjoyed sharing these discoveries on Facebook, Skype and with his friends.
Josh's steady, patient determination and love of adventure came in handy when at, 16, he decided to attend a two week residential training at East Coast Assistance Dogs only two months after major surgery. Coming home with his faithful service dog, Virginia, was his hard won reward. Together, they went everywhere and spent many hours hanging out snuggled together. But, throughout his life, Josh was most known for his quiet patience, compassion, his dry sense of humor, and his love for family, friends and all those who cared for him at HFSC. Josh believed in the importance of being kind, especially when difficult, and he walked his talk.
