NEW MILFORD, CT — Sheila V. Landgrebe, 80 of New Milford, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 10, 2016, with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Richard F. Landgrebe. She was born in Manhattan on September 27, 1935, a daughter of the late John and Helen (Fallon) Cassidy. She was raised in Jackson Heights N.Y. and graduated from Dominican Academy and studied at Hunter College.
Sheila was a groundbreaker, the first female debt collector at a major financial institution. She preferred working in a variety of nontraditional careers. She always encouraged her children to pursue their dreams. Sheila's quick wit and wry sense of humor always kept her family entertained. An avid reader and cross-worder, Sheila loved playing cards. She was a pet lover her entire life. She also enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, but Sheila's greatest love was her family.
She is survived by her three children: Martin, Virginia, and Rachel Tuleja (Michael) all of New Milford. Her sister Joanne Berger and her brother in law Norbert (Bud) Berger of Hicksville NY; as well as nieces Stephanie, Alyson, Stacie and a nephew Patrick. She will be greatly missed by the family she cherished and remembered with fondness by her many friends in the community. A special thanks from Sheila's family to Dr. Thomas Botta, her nurse Patrice Lego, and her caregiver, Lina Tallman.
