New Milford 2021 Election Voter Guide: See The Candidates

NEW MILFORD, CT — Danbury residents will head to the polls on Nov. 2 to cast votes for the municipal election. The position of mayor, and spots on the Town Council, Board of Education and Board of Finance are all up for grabs.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 2. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.

In the New Milford race for mayor, Republican incumbent Pete Bass is running against Democrat Ted Hine.

There are fifteen candidates competing for nine openings on the Town Council. Democrats Mary Jane Lundgren, David Lawson, Anthony Morrissey, Michael Shackelford, Brendan Gaul, Hilary Ram, Mohammed Karim, Alexandra Thomas and Exiene Lofrgen are vying with Republicans Katy Francis, Chris Cosgrove, Joseph Failla, Sal Rynkiewicz, Michael Nahom and Thomas Esposito for the seats.

Democrats Joseph Baker, Robyn Mann and Gale Alexander, and Republicans Diane Klaif, Walter O'Connor and Joseph DeGregorio, are battling for three open slots on the Board of Finance.

Voters may select up to four candidates for full-term openings on the Board of Education. Republicans are fielding Leslie Sarich, Wendy Ann Faulenbach and Keith Swanhall Jr. The choices offered by the Democrats are Thomas O'Brien, Steven Mann, Bill Dahl and Marilyn Lipscomb. Democrat Cindy Davis is running against Eric Hansell to fill the two-year position on the BoE.

In the race for a position on the Board of Assessment Appeals, Democrat Ellen Conklin is running for against Republican Frank Bidetti.

New Milford voters are choosing two candidates for the Planning Commission from a field of four. They are Democrats Korey Linder and Jim Scheef; and Republicans Michael Crespan and George Sam.

Republicans Scott Leddy and Frank Greco, and Democrats Robert Gambino and Kateland Kelly, are competing for two full-term positions on the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Democrats Jackie Lyn Alexander and Michael Anastas are running against Republicans William Taylor and Charles Bogie for two available seats on the Zoning Commission.
