New Milford 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, Polling Places
Here's everything you need to know concerning the New Milford local elections including the candidates, polling places, and voting hours.

NEW MILFORD, CT — On Nov. 7, New Milford residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions. Contested races include: position of mayor, town council, school board, finance board, and zoning commissions.
Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration. To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

Mayor, town clerk and tax collector

In New Milford, Tom O'Brien, a Democrat, is running for mayor against Pete Bass, a Republican. For town clerk, Noreen H. Prichard, a Republican, is running unopposed. Nancy E. McGavic, a Republican, is running unopposed for tax collector.
Town Council
For town council, you'll vote for up to nine people. On the ballot are Democrats, Robert B. Gambino, Alexandra Thomas, Ari Rosenberg, Mary Jane Lundgren, Brandon DeBiase, and Hilary Ram. The Republicans on the ballot include: Sal Rynkiewicz, Douglas Skelly, Thomas Esposito, Paul Murphy, Chris Cosgrove, and Katy Francis.
Board of Finance
For Board of Finance, you'll vote for up to four people. On the ballot are Democrats, Ellen Conklin and Walter Bayer. The Republican candidates are Laurence I. Tripp and Joseph C. Troiano.
Board of Education Full Term
For Board of Education, you'll vote for up to five people. Democratic candidates include: Tammy McInerney and Brian McCauley. Republican candidates are: Sarah E. Herring, Eric Hansell and Olga I. Rella.
Board of Education 2-Year Term
Dean J. Barile, a Republican, is the lone candidate to fill a two-year vacancy on the Board of Education.
Board of Assessment of Appeals
The candidates for Board of Assessment of Appeals are: Exiene Lofgren, a Democrat, and Al Brant, a Republican.
Zoning boards and commissions
For the planning commission, you'll vote for up to three candidates. The Democratic candidate is Peter Mullen and the Republican candidates are Victoria Carvalho and Paul Murphy.
For the zoning commission the candidates are Michael Anastas and Joseph Raymond Baker, both Democrats, and the Republicans are Greg Mullen and Mario Sclafani. You'll vote for up to three candidates.
For the zoning board of appeals the candidates are Terry Ellis, a Democrat, and Republicans, Sal Rynkiewicz and Garret Strol. You will vote for up to three candidates.
For the zoning board of appeals to fill a two-year term, the candidate is Kelly Franzese, a Republican.
