New Milford Community Star: Matt Higgins, Cub Scouts Master

New Milford, CT — "Matt Higgins of New Milford is my Community Star. Matt is the Cub Master for Pack 467 and Den leader for Den 6 within the pack. Matt goes over and above in handling his responsibilities every day.

Matt was an Eagle Scout so he knows what it takes to run a successful program. This year has been filled with hikes, community service, fund raisers and just all around fun activities. He ran events like a rain gutter regatta and a rocket event that we've never done before.

There is a huge amount of work that goes into ensuring safety and fun while meeting the programs objectives. Our pack has a catapult that he helped build - that's pretty unique. It's an around the year job and he does it with a smile! Matt is having a huge positive impact on our young men and we just can't say thank you enough."
