New Milford Man Arrested Following Drug Deal: Ridgefield Police

Police arrested two men on drug charges in the Casagmo Apartments parking lot.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Two men were arrested in the Casagmo Apartments parking lot on April 14 after police saw them conduct a hand-to-hand drug transaction, according to Ridgefield Police. Anton Yakimov, 22, of Ridgefield and Stephen Caprio, 32, of New Milford were charged during the incident that occurred at around 5:15 p.m.

Police say that after officers saw the deal go down, Yakimov attempted to hide drugs from detectives and interfere with the investigation. Caprio was found with several hydrocodone pills, several packets of heroin and marijuana. To sign up for New Milford breaking news alerts and more, click here.

Yakimov was charged with possession of marijuana and interfering with duties of an officer. He was released on $500 bond and is due in Danbury Superior Court on May 12.

Caprio was charged with narcotics possession, illegal distribution of drugs, and failure to keep narcotic drugs in their original container. At the time of the arrest, Caprio was turned over to Bethel Police on a warrant for larceny in the fifth degree.
