New Milford O'Connor's Commences Month-Long St Paddy's Day Celebration

NEW MILFORD, CT — An Irish-American pub owner wants to share his love of Irish culture this St. Patrick's Day season by kicking off a month of St. Patrick's Day celebrations in honor of their patron Saint. Bobby O'Connor, was born in Boston but raised in County Cork, Ireland, is the owner of O'Connor's Public House on Railroad St. in New Milford and said that he bought the pub because he wanted to bring the "warmth and mystique that encompasses all of the visitors to his family’s establishment in Ireland."

After purchasing his first O'Connor's in Brewster, New York in 2007, he took over the former Dan's Dining Car in 2012. He said he couldn't pass it up due to its excellent location.

"This spot is a perfect location in a quintessential New England setting. This time of year, people get really excited over St. Paddy’s day, so in turn I work with that energy and hype it up as well," O'Connor said.

After a tough few years due to Covid, O'Connor is excited to bring a wide variety of food, drink and entertainment to new and loyal customers.

"Resilience keeps me going in this industry. It’s been important to stay resilient to the fluctuations in the bar industry," he shared.

O’Connor’s Public House is looking forward to hosting the following events and activities during the month of March in honor of St. Patrick's Day and O'Connor hopes you will join him!

• Every Tuesday- Karaoke with Zig Zag Paradox at 8:30 p.m.
• Every Thursday- Free pool all day
• Saturday March 8th - DJ Dizzaster at 10 p.m.
• March 12th Open Mic Comedy Night Sign Ups at 7:30, Show at 8 pm
• Friday March 14th - St. Paddy’s Weekend with door prizes, food & drink specials all day
• Saturday March 15th- Guinness Glass Engraving from 6- 8 p.m. (FREE with the purchase of a Guinness), DJ Dizzaster at 10 p.m.
• March 14th-17th: Traditional Irish Fare Menu including corned beef & cabbage, fish & chips, Irish beef stew, corned beef sandwiches
• Sunday March 16th- Door prize raffles all day, live music with Pat Joe Birney at 2 p.m.
