Restaurant Closes In New Milford, Owner Announces With ‘Heavy Heart’
The popular eatery closed its doors on Monday.
NEW MILFORD, CT — A popular eatery has closed after more than three years in business in New Milford.
Scooter’s Bar & Grill, located at 507 Danbury Rd., closed its doors on Monday.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce the closing of Scooter’s this Monday Oct 7,” co-owner Vilson Vataj wrote in a recent post on the restaurant’s Facebook page. “I’ve made the difficult decision to step away in order to focus on other businesses and spend more time with my family. The support from this community over the years has meant the world to me, and I’ll never forget the memories we’ve created together. While this chapter is coming to a close, the connections we’ve built will stay with me. You just might see me around Connecticut soon.”

Hearst Connecticut Media previously reported that Edwin David, who co-owned Scooter’s with Vataj, described Scooter’s as serving a “fusion of American and Italian comfort food.”
David told Hearst at the time of the restaurant’s opening that the menu featured some of the “staples” from their experience at working at Frankie and Johnnie’s Pine restaurant, a landmark restaurant in Bronx, New York.
