Roxbury Town Hall Residents Complain of Black Bear Carcass
The State EnCon Police are seeking public assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for the killing of the adult, male bear.

On Wednesday, May 18, Roxbury Town Hall began receiving complaints of a deceased black bear on Roxbury Land Trust property, adjacent to Upper County Rd. Officers from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police Division were dispatched to the area to investigate the suspicious incident.
The carcass was located and removed for further investigation. On Thursday, May 19, necropsy was performed with the assistance of the Wildlife Division in order to determine the cause and nature of death. The State EnCon Police are now requesting the assistance of the public to help identify the person(s) responsible for the killing of the adult, male black bear.
