School Bus Shortage Causing Frustration In New Milford: Report
The school's bus company is facing staffing shortages, causing parents to scramble to get their kids to school, CT Insider reported.
NEW MILFORD, CT — A bus driver shortage is causing New Milford parents to sign their children up for an after-school program and/or rearrange their work days to get their kids to and from school, CT Insider reported.
This year, the New Milford school district has 50 bus drivers — a decline from previous years, when the number was in the 60s, officials from All Star Transportation, the district's bus company, told CT Insider.
Disappearing buses have caused one parent to fit her schedule around picking her child up from school, while another parent signed her child up for an after-school program — at a cost of $25 per day, the parents told CT Insider.
