22-Year-Old Arrested After Refusing to Come Down From Rochambeau Bridge
Newtown police observed the man climbing the bridge over I-84.
NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown police observed a man climbing up the Rochambeau Bridge over I-84 on July 16 and ordered him to come down, however, the man refused, resulting in his arrest, according to police.
Twenty-two-year-old John McGrath of Newtown gave police a false name and upon further investigation, Newtown police said they found he had an outstanding warrant in Milford, Conn. for failure to appear in court. McGrath was arrested for interfering with a police office, simple trespass and failure to appear. His bond was set at $15,000.
