
Sandy Hook cafe Demitasse, which opened in 2010, has shut down at its location in the middle of Sandy Hook.
"It is with much regret that demitasse has closed its doors," wrote the cafe on its Facebook page. "We know you loved it and Wished we could have stayed.
Thank you Sandy Hook for all your support -we truly appreciated it."

Fans expressed sorrow at the news.
"I want to personally thank you for making such a great effort," wrote one. "You had created what i thought was a very fine establishment, I loved the atmosphere, the coffee and the staff - Best of luck to you in whatever future endeavors you embark upon, sincerely and sadly."

On Monday afternoon, renovators were removing equipment from the shop. A sign outside read "CLOSED FOR REMODELING."
Owner Mike Landry has made and sold coffee and coffee accessories -- like espresso machines -- since 1989, but opened Demitasse after the former tenant, Mocha Coffeehouse, closed.
"The town really wanted this," he told Patch in 2010.
Nearby businesses in Sandy Hook's center have been hit hard in recent months -- Stone River Grille closed in early January. But plans are in motion to offer grants to small businesses in the area, especially those affected by the influx of people in the area after the Dec. 14 shooting.
