Police ID Drunken Gunman Who Threatened Employee At Newtown Garage
Newtown police later apprehended the suspect in Bethel.
NEWTOWN, CT — Police defused what could have been a volatile situation at a garage in Newtown Tuesday.
Newtown police officers were dispatched to Dodgingtown Garage on Route 302 for a report of an intoxicated man waving a gun around at the gas pumps at 4:42 p.m.
Eyewitnesses also reported that he was publicly urinating and exposing himself, and threatening an employee with multiple handguns.

Police say the man, later identified as Vincenzo Ciocca of Spindrift Lane in Shelton, left in his vehicle and headed towards Bethel as they were closing in on the location.
Newtown Officers quickly located and stopped the vehicle on Route 302 at its intersection with Wolfpits Road. Police blocked additional traffic, and told other drivers to vacate the area, according to their post on social media.

Police were able to take the "uncooperative" suspect into custody safely, with no injuries reported. They also discovered the man was carrying a loaded .380 caliber handgun and loaded .357 Magnum revolver.
Police charged Ciocca with breach of peace, first-degree threatening, reckless endangerment, DUI, and multiple firearms violations. He was held on a $100,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court Feb. 13.
