Nearly 1,000 Newtown Residents Without Power

NEWTOWN, CT — Seven percent of Newtown residents are without power due to the latest storm, according to the Eversource power outage map. Town officials announced Monday morning that 20 roads are partially or totally blocked with down wires and trees.

According to the latest power outage map update, 780 customers are out of power in Newtown. That accounts for seven percent of the utility's customer base in town.

Crews are working in many locations, and no restoration times have been determined.

Residents are urged to exercise caution.
