Newtown Borough Zoning Commission Approves Lexington Gardens Project
The proposed project includes one 28,000-square-foot structure, two 13,000-square-foot buildings, and one 6,500-square-foot structure at the former Lexington Gardens property.
The Newtown Borough Zoning Commission last week reportedly approved a preliminary site plan for a commercial redevelopment project at the former Lexington Gardens property at 30-32 Church Hill Road.
According to a report in the Newtown Bee, the project includes one 28,000-square-foot structure, two 13,000-square-foot buildings, and one 6,500-square-foot structure, each of which will have ground level retail space and second floor office space.
The former Lexington Gardens plant nursery and garden shop located on the property would be demolished, according to the report.

The application was submitted by property owner Newtown Savings Bank, which reportedly intends to sell the site and the development rights to an undisclosed purchaser. The commission reportedly approved the plans via a unanimous vote.
The bank plans to open a retail location in the planned 6,500-square-foot building.
