Newtown First Selectman Patricia Llodra to Retire: Report

She is finishing up her fourth term as First Selectman.

NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown's First Selectman Patricia Llodra will be retiring in November, reports the News Times. Llodra said she has been thinking about retiring for six months, and retirement will allow her to catch up on writing, traveling and spending time with her family.

Llodra led the town through the events of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in 2012, and also oversaw the new Sandy Hook Elementary School open. She has been hailed for her leadership in the aftermath of 12/14.
