Newtown Man Arrested In Fatal Boat Crash
An arrest has been made after 52-year-old Randall Pineau, pictured, was killed in a boat crash on Lake Zoar over the summer.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Newtown man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a boat crash that took the life of a Sandy Hook man in July. Mark Rudzinski was arrested by Department of Energy And Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon) Wednesday and was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
Police said that Rudzinski was driving a ski boat when he struck a pontoon boat driven by Randall Pineau near Mohawk Trail in Sandy Hook on July 11. Pineau was rushed to Danbury Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Six people were on board the two vessels, and Pineau's wife was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
A Gofundme page made in honor of Pineau raised over $28,000.

Rudzinski was charged with violations of the rules for preventing collisions, failure to keep proper lookout and reckless boating.
