NEWTOWN, CT — Multiple collisions and a disorderly conduct charge were at the top of the Newtown Police Department's blotter the last week.
Two-Vehicle Crash Reported on Berkshire Road in Newtown
Police responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries on April 16 along Berkshire Road near Toddy Hill Road.

According to the report, both vehicles were traveling east when one vehicle attempted to merge left, where the right lane ends. The merging vehicle was issued a written warning for failure to yield.
The driver of the first vehicle, a 2018 Honda HR-V, was identified as Kimberly C. Radigan of New Milford. The second vehicle, a 2014 Jeep Wrangler, was operated by William John Barna of Southbury. Both drivers reported no injuries, and airbags did not deploy. Each was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

No hospital transport was required, and both vehicles sustained minor damage.
Driver Cited After Rear-End Collision at Berkshire Road Intersection
A two-vehicle crash occurred on April 16 at the intersection of Berkshire Road and Bennetts Bridge Road when a Chrysler Town & Country minivan failed to stop at a red light and struck a Toyota Tundra that was already stopped at the signal.
No injuries were reported, and airbags did not deploy in either vehicle. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Police identified the minivan operator as Gary Pavlovic of Beacon Falls, who was cited for operating without a license and failure to obey a traffic signal. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
Driver Injured After Striking Traffic Control Box During U-Turn
A Wethersfield man was taken to the hospital with a suspected leg injury following a single-vehicle crash on March 3 at approximately 9:22 p.m., according to Newtown police.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Church Hill Road, Riverside Road, Glenn Road, and Washington Avenue. Police said a 2000 Honda Accord was traveling east on Church Hill Road when the driver attempted a U-turn. During the maneuver, the vehicle struck a traffic control box at the corner of Church Hill Road and Washington Avenue.
The front end of the car sustained disabling damage, and all front airbags deployed. The driver, identified as Johnathan Daniel Robledo, 39, was taken to Danbury Hospital by Newtown Ambulance.
The vehicle was towed from the scene due to extensive damage. The traffic control box, owned by the State of Connecticut, also sustained significant damage.
Derby Man Faces Multiple Charges After Hawleyville Road Incident
A 22-year-old Derby man faces several charges following an incident on Dec. 15, 2024, near the exit ramp on Hawleyville Road, according to Newtown police.
Officers identified the driver as Emanol Andres Montoya-Garces, who was accused of operating a motor vehicle under suspension, reckless driving, improper passing, and using a motor vehicle to harass or intimidate.
Montoya-Garces was also charged with second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree breach of peace, making physical threats under the state’s threatening statute, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
The case is scheduled for a court appearance on May 6 at Danbury Superior Court.
Unoccupied Vehicle Rolls, Strikes Another in Mile Hill Road Parking Lot
A minor collision involving two unoccupied vehicles occurred on April 11 in a private parking lot at 11 Mile Hill Road, Newtown police said.
According to the report, a 2016 Audi Q5 was parked in a space with the engine off but left in drive. The vehicle rolled backward and struck a 2014 Mercedes CLA 250 that was parked across the lot.
No injuries were reported, and both vehicles sustained minor damage. Police said no enforcement action was taken because the incident occurred on private property and both vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the collision.
The Audi is registered to Eva Steinman of Brooklyn, New York, and the Mercedes to Sheila May of Sandy Hook.
Newtown Police Cite Driver for Speeding Nearly Double the Limit
A Bridgeport man was cited for speeding after Newtown police observed his vehicle traveling at nearly twice the posted speed limit on Mt. Pleasant Road, according to a department report.
Police said the incident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. on April 18 while an officer was conducting radar enforcement in the area. The officer clocked a vehicle traveling at 83 mph in a 45 mph zone.
The driver, identified as Sebastian Esteban Vega-Lozano, 22, was charged with misdemeanor speeding. He was processed and released with a scheduled appearance in Danbury Superior Court on April 29.
No injuries or other infractions were reported in connection with the incident.
Newtown Man Faces Disorderly Conduct Charge Following Bears Hill Incident
A Newtown man has been summoned to court following a reported dispute late Thursday night on Bears Hill Road, according to police.
Officers responded to the residence at approximately 11:50 p.m. on April 17, where an investigation led to a charge of disorderly conduct against Robert Norman Deveau, 53.
Deveau was issued a written promise to appear and is scheduled to appear at Danbury Superior Court on April 21 at 9:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Two Vehicles Collide at Newtown Intersection, No Injuries Reported
A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Botsford Hill Road and High Bridge Road in Newtown on April 19 resulted in no injuries, according to police.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:12 p.m. when one vehicle traveling westbound on High Bridge Road stopped at a stop sign and then turned left, colliding with a second vehicle traveling southbound on Botsford Hill Road. Both vehicles were identified as Nissans owned by Nissan Infiniti Lt LLC, and neither required towing from the scene.
Police said both drivers, identified as Monroe residents, were wearing seat belts and reported no injuries. Airbags in both vehicles were not deployed.
The operator of the first vehicle received a verbal warning for failure to grant the right-of-way at a stop sign.
No Injuries Reported in Two-Car Collision at I-84 Exit in Newtown
A two-vehicle collision occurred on April 17 at the intersection of Wasserman Way and the I-84 Exit 11 off-ramp, according to the Newtown Police Department. No injuries were reported at the scene.
Police said a 2022 Honda HR-V driven by Mary F. Reitano of Sandy Hook was traveling north on the off-ramp and made a right turn onto Wasserman Way, where it struck a 2022 Toyota Camry driven by Christopher Clark of Brookfield, which was stopped in the eastbound lane.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and airbags were not deployed. Neither vehicle required towing.
Reitano was issued a verbal warning for failure to grant the right-of-way at an intersection.
