Newtown Police Report Multiple Traffic Stops and Court Summonses

Newtown police issued charges following multiple traffic stops, including failure to appear, false statement, and driving without a license.

NEWTOWN, CT — A routine traffic stop on South Main Street led to legal action against a Bridgeport woman on March 10, according to the Newtown Police Department.

Officers stopped a 2013 Toyota Scion after discovering it was unregistered. During the stop, police determined that the driver, Yarlianne Salgado, 27, had an outstanding warrant.

Salgado was charged with second-degree failure to appear. She was given a court date of March 25 at Stamford Superior Court and was released after posting 7 percent of a $10,000 bond.

Traffic Stop in Newtown Leads to Court Summons

A Bridgeport man was taken into custody following a traffic stop on South Main Street on March 15, according to the Newtown Police Department.

Officers stopped a gray Nissan Pathfinder around 6:25 p.m. after observing a counterfeit paper registration plate and other motor vehicle violations. The driver, Clark Andre, 30, was found to have an active warrant from the Norwalk Police Department and was also operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

Andre was charged with second-degree failure to appear and operating a vehicle without a driver’s license. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on April 4.

Newtown Resident Faces False Statement Charge

A Sandy Hook man reported to the Newtown Police Department on March 10 after learning of an active warrant, according to authorities.

Albert A. Arroyo, 44, was charged with making a false statement in connection with an incident that occurred on February 10. He was released on a written promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on March 25.
