Newtown Police Work with Business Owners to Address Safety Concerns

The Newtown Police Department will host a community/police forum to discuss how to better work together to deter crime.

NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown Police Department is working with local businesses to address safety concerns and deter crime. Captain Joe Rios said in a release that the department is "committed to working with all businesses to improve relationships, detect and deter crime. In these very challenging times we have a wonderful opportunity to share valuable information on topics such as safety, security and other crime prevention measures."

Local businesses will be contacted by a Newtown Police Officer in the next few weeks to discuss contact information and any security concerns.

"We hope to host a future community/police forum to further discuss how we can better work together in order to safeguard your needs and those of our entire community. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and support over the years that you have provided to the men and women of this agency," Rios said.
