Newtown Projects to Start Soon
Residents will soon see changes in the roads and the high school auditorium.

Residents will soon see changes in the roads and the high school auditorium, reports the News-Times.
In July, the town will start with repair and resurfacing on Jeremiah Road. Other roads scheduled for repaving this summer include Hattertown Road, Flat Swamp Road, Poverty Hollow Road, and Key Rock Road.

The other major initiative in this round of capital projects is a $3.6 million remodeling of the Newtown High School auditorium to make it handicapped accessible, as required by law.
The project, which could begin as soon as January, calls for the replacement of seats, carpeting, and lighting, repairs to the heating and air conditioning systems, and a new concrete floor.
