Newtown Teen to Compete in CrossFit Games: Report
From a family of athletes, this local teenager finished eighth out of over 2,000 athletes to qualify.

NEWTOWN, CT — A local teenager is set to compete at the 2017 CrossFit Games, according to the News Times. 17-year-old Romy Gold will head to Madison, WI, in August to compete in the 16-17 division championship.
Gold placed eighth out of over 2,100 to qualify for the championship. She was the top performer in the third workout, and is making her second appearance at the Crossfit games.
Her older brother Cooper was a standout football and lacrosse player at Newtown High School. Her older sister Celia also competed in the CrossFit games. Romy Gold trains at CrossFit RedZone in Newtown
