Newtown's Teacher of the Year Announced
She has been a teacher at Newtown High School since 2004
NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown Public Schools announced the 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year Thursday. In a press release, the district named Newtown High School english teacher Abigail Marks as its 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year.
Marks has served Newtown High since 2004, and became the English Department Chair in 2014. She received the Joseph B. Whitehead Educator of Distinction Award in 2016, and has served on numerous committees.
"Abi Marks is an extraordinary teacher that represents the Newtown Public Schools with distinction. I am certain that her application will be well received at the state level," said superintendent Dr. Joseph Erardi.
