Pokémon Go Players Arrested for Drug Possession at Library: Newtown PD

Police say one of the men had an active warrant for his arrest.

NEWTOWN, CT — Two men playing Pokémon Go on the lawn of the Cyrenius H. Booth Library in Newtown were arrested for drug possession. Police say they found both Theodore Rogers, 29, of Danbury and Michael Paradise, 31, in Redding had narcotics on them after they were found at around 10:55 p.m. on June 6.

Police say they were dispatched to the library for an interior alarm, and spoke to both men playing the game on the property. Police say Paradise had an active warrant and both men were later found with narcotics.

Paradise was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics and failure to appear. He was held on a $3,000 bond. Roger was released on a $500 bond for possession of narcotics and given a court date of June 20.
